The fabrics and subtle details of the design made Kristen’s gown resonate understated elegance with a vintage feel.
Kristin had a church ceremony and a winter wedding, so the design had to be both warm and formal. I looked from 1920’s to 1940’s inspiration for the silhouette, whilst the hand-beaded and embellished hairpiece gave the overall look a ‘Gatsby-esque’ feel.
The standout of the final design was the incredible French Guipure cotton lace used on the bodice and sleeve of the gown, backed with soft bridal tulle. The simple silhouette of the matt satin back crepe skirt and V-back allowed the lace to be unchallenged, and the little tucks and button detail gave Kristin’s derriere the limelight.
